Clearview Marching Band to host 25th annual craft fair

Guests can visit the fair to grab all handmade crafts just in time for holiday shopping.

More than 100 crafters are expected to take their creations to the 25th annual Clearview Craft Fair at Clearview Middle School on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Guests can visit the fair to grab handmade crafts just in time for holiday shopping. The fair, hosted by the school’s marching band and color guard, prides itself on local vendors and their handmade crafts.

“Sometimes they’ll have these shows where they’ll have representatives from companies, but we shy away from those types of shows,” said Dave Hubbard, who co-chairs the event  with his wife. “It’s all handmade crafts at this craft show.”

Earnings from vendors will go to the school’s marching band program.

Part of the fair will be held in the school cafeteria, where food including hot dogs, Italian hoagies and meatball sandwiches will be priced from $2 to $6. There will also be a bake sale with festive goods.

The fair will take up three rooms at the middle school. More than 100 crafters will fill the middle school cafeteria, gym and multi-purpose room with Christmas goods ranging from jewelry to wood crafts.

Members of the marching band will perform holiday music in the hallway throughout the day.

New at the fair this year is a raffle drawing where guests can sign up for the chance to participate in $75 worth of scratch-off lottery cards decorated on a small pre-lit Christmas tree.

In the days prior to the event, student and parent volunteers will be hard at work to make sure the fair is one to remember.

“Come on out and help support the Clearview marching band,” said Hubbard. “They do a lot of great work.”

Admission is free. The fair begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. Rain date is Dec. 8, with the same start and end time.
