Haddonfield’s Boy Scout Troop 65 is selling garden bulbs to fundraise for the transformation of 400 pounds worth of plastic bottle caps into a bench.
Haddonfield’s Boy Scout Troop 65 is collecting 400 pounds of plastic bottle caps, which will be turned into a bench as their community conservation project. The Troop 65 Bench Squad is selling garden bulbs online to fundraise for the bench, and for every purchase made, Flower Power Fundraising will give 50 percent of the funds back to BSA Troop 65 Conservation Bench Project.
The completed bench will be gifted to the UrbanPromise Community Garden and School in Camden, and the bench project is part of the troop’s efforts toward earning the Boy Scouts of America’s World Conservation Award. There is a $225 processing fee to create the bench, and the value of the bench is more than $800.
Troop 65 is asking that interested community members to drop off caps, tells others about the collection or make a donation to the project.
Please make checks payable to BSA Troop 65 and mail to: Lisa Quanci 305 Mt. Vernon Ave. Haddonfield, NJ 08033.
