Local camp aims to introduce kids to artistic masters

Five chances for borough children to indulge their artistic side until end of summer.

Play at Art’s founder Robin Morrow launched Art Summer Camps in June, encouraging young artists to explore their creativity while learning about the iconic Masters of the 20th Century.

Students will participate in indoor and outdoor adventures and discover local art, all while being unplugged and engaging their imaginations. Classes are held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and customized schedules are available. Here are the weekly artistic themes for the remainder of the summer:

July 29 to Aug. 2: Pablo Picasso

Aug. 5 to 9: Jackson Pollock

Aug. 12 to 16: Mark Rothko

Aug. 19 to 23: Julian Schnabel

Aug. 26 to 30: Andy Warhol

Play at Art is located at 13 S. Haddon Avenue. Camp fees begin at $65 for “day-of” drop off. Children ages 4 to 10 years are welcome. Registration is available online at www.PlayAtArt.com, call (856) 433-8784, or via email at [email protected] or [email protected].
