On May 24, 2019 Seneca High School’s Air Force Junior ROTC honored veterans by rededicating a military memorial in front of the school and by unveiling a “Wall of Honor” to recognize former and future Seneca students who have taken or will take the oath to serve our country.
Commemorative plaques representing each branch of the armed services were designed
by Seneca’s art students who also painted a large mural of an American flag and a soldier
saluting.
Several veterans and current Seneca students, including cadet Katherine Richards, junior
Kyle Nisley, VFW Representative Joseph Painting, and Ms Sgt Retired Michael Deehr,
spoke at the flagpole about the importance of Memorial Day and their time in the service.
Former Seneca student Brody Fitzpatrick (’18), United States Air Force, represented
Seneca’s graduates during the dedication of the Wall of Honor.
Kyle Nisley, JROTC Corp Commander, said in his speech, “This Memorial Day, let us
honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice not only by remembering names and faces,
but by celebrating their gift of a secure future for all Americans.”
