Man arrested for damaging Verizon communication lines

The following is a press release from the Cherry Hill Police Department:

A 38-year-old Southampton man  was arrested on Thursday, May 23 following a joint investigation involving detectives from the Cherry Hill Police Department and detectives from the New Jersey State Police Red Lion Barracks. The man was identified as the male responsible for the deliberate damage to Verizon fiber-optic and copper communication lines as well as related equipment. The damage to this property resulted in Verizon residential and business customers being without communications for various amounts of time.

He was charged in Cherry Hill in conjunction with three separate incidents that occurred in March and April of 2019 where Verizon communications wires were compromised. He was also charged for similar incidents occurring in Burlington County and additional charges are pending in other jurisdictions. He was remanded to the Burlington County Jail.

The Cherry Hill Police Department would like to thank the Medford Police Department for assisting with the investigation.
