Weekly Roundup: J-Serve, Moorestown PD top this week’s stories

Local teens unite to give back

Since 2005, Jewish communities around the world have devoted one day in the spring to the Jewish values of loving kindness and charitable giving. On Sunday, April 7, the Moorestown Jewish Association, in partnership with Temple Sinai in Cinnaminson, participated in J-Serve, an international day of Jewish youth service.

Local teenagers tackled a variety of projects intended to benefit local organizations, including filling snack bags for children at Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia, making American flag pins for local veterans and collecting toys for the Friends of the Burlington County Animal Shelter.

Construction underway at Hartford, North Church plants

Moorestown Council drank in an update on Moorestown’s water at its most recent meeting. The township’s engineering consultants provided an overview of the work taking place at the township’s water plants and discussed what improvements will ensure things flow smoothly at the sewage plant.

 

Moorestown PD joins an exclusive group

The Moorestown Township Police Department has joined an elite group. At the most recent meeting of Moorestown Township Council, the department received its certificate of accreditation from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police.13
