People In Transition: April Workshops

The Center for People in Transition at Rowan College at Gloucester County hosts a number of empowerment, health and financial workshops during the month of April. Unless otherwise noted, all workshops are free and open to the public. Registration is mandatory to take part. Call 856-415-2222 or email [email protected] to register. You must be 18 years or older to attend.

The first workshop is Advanced Computers. Amy Charlesworth, Navigator of Social Services for People in Transition; will take your intermediate computer skills to the next level with her 40-hour workshop covering advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills. The cost of the workshop is $40 for displaced homemakers and $100 for all other attendees. This workshop is sponsored by the United Way of Gloucester County and will be held on Fridays, April 5 to May 31, no class on April 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The second workshop is Letting Go of Blame and Shame. Join Sharon Roth-Lichtenfeld, Certified Professional Life Coach; as she helps navigate you to live free of the toxic hold of blame and shame others have over you and you have on yourself. This workshop will help you to learn the steps and skills needed to let go of what is holding you back. The workshop is sponsored by the United Way of Gloucester County and will be held on Wednesday, April 10, from 7 to 9 p.m.

The final workshop is Manage Your Emotions, Manage Your Time. Research increasingly shows that emotional intelligence is a strong indicator of success. Kristen Wilson, Social Service & Career Administrator for People in Transition; will define emotional intelligence, discuss its importance in your personal and professional life and provide tips for more satisfying interactions and time management. This workshop is sponsored by Heart of South Jersey and will be held on Monday, April 15, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Rowan College at Gloucester County’s campus is located on Tanyard Road in Deptford, just off Exit 56 off of Route 55.
