Council recognizes former Township Solicitor Charles Fiore at Jan. 22 meeting
At last week’s meeting, council recognized former Township Solicitor Charles Fiore with a proclamation after 23 years of service to the township. In November, Fiore was appointed and sworn in as the Gloucester County prosecutor, replacing Sean Dalton who had held the position since 2002. Louis Cappelli Jr. was appointed to take Fiore’s place as township solicitor at the Jan. 8 reorganization meeting.
Williamstown Rotary offers fun for all with handicap-accessible playground
Mary Mazza Duffy Memorial Park became home to the only handicap-accessible playground in Gloucester County, and the most southern in the state, earlier this month, according to Williamstown Sunrise Rotary Foundation member Don Kensey. After two years of fundraising, research and planning, the $150,000 play area is open to all children and families.
Police offering $5,000 reward for information on Williamstown homicide
The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office and the Monroe Township Police Department are jointly offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the fatal shooting of Steve M. Bucher. Bucher, 56, was found deceased in his home in the Timber Lakes section of Monroe Township on Jan. 10. An autopsy concluded the cause of his death was a gunshot wound and the manner of death was homicide.
