Monroe Township police academy graduate honored

Outstanding Achievement awards were presented to seven graduates of the 52nd Basic Police Class of the Gloucester County Police Academy on July 11, in the Physical Education Center on the campus of Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC). One of the seven recipients was from Monroe Township.

Thirty-eight men and six women graduated with fanfare and good wishes, marking the completion of their 19-week training session. Police Academy Director Fred H. Madden welcomed guests, with opening remarks provided by Board of Trustees Chairperson Gene J. Concordia. The keynote address was presented by Prosecutor Charles Fiore of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. Following the presentation of diplomas, Monroe Township’s Craig Staffieri received the Physical Training Award.

Class officers for the 52nd Police Course include: President Johanna R. James, Vice-President Morgan J. Muracco, Secretary/Treasurer Dominique E. Khoury, Class Leader Emmory L. Bowens and Physical Fitness Leader/Guidon Craig Staffieri.

The 44 graduates represented Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, Essex, Gloucester, Middlesex, Monmouth, and Salem Counties.

The Gloucester County Police Academy operates as an autonomous unit within RCGC’s Division of Law and Justice.

Rowan College at Gloucester County is located on a 250-acre campus on Tanyard Road, Deptford, just off Exit 56 of Route 55.
