Sun Editorial: It’s the giving season, so let us help promote your drive, fundraiser, etc.

You tell us and we’ll tell everyone else.

The Sun

The holidays officially are here, and that means the season of giving also is upon us. Across South Jersey, numerous groups will collect items and raise funds for those less fortunate. It’s all about making the holidays bright for everyone.

We want to help. We want to help the church that’s collecting coats, the civic group hosting a food drive, the class collecting supplies for animal shelters and everyone out there who is working diligently to make sure Santa visits each and every home this holiday season.

But to do that, we need your help. We need you to tell us about your event. When you do, we’ll publicize it online and in the print version of The Sun.

Every holiday season — and we’re confident this year will not be an exception — South Jersey residents open their hearts and wallets to help those who need a holiday boost. They collect everything from dollar bills to cat litter, shoes to soup, toy trucks to warm blankets to help those in need.

Want to make your drive or collection as successful as possible? One idea is to tell as many people as possible about it — and about how they can help with your cause.

The Sun is happy to publish information about these efforts, but first you have to tell us about them. The easiest way is to use our general news email — [email protected].

Send us all of the pertinent information: what you’re collecting, when you’re collecting, how people can donate, etc. And try to send the information to us as quickly as possible. The holidays mean early deadlines for our print editions on some weeks, so, if you have something you’d like to see in the paper, the best time to send us the information is, well, now.

The first Sun was published in 2004, so this will be our 15th holiday season in South Jersey. Every year, we’ve seen firsthand the overwhelming generosity from residents.

Let’s keep it going in 2018. Let us help you promote your holiday giving effort.
