Letter to the editor: Vote for change

Writer: ‘I am voting for all challengers.’

Here comes another political season filled with empty promises and fake pledges.

New Jersey lawmakers raised our cost of living by 23 cents per gallon. Hundreds of properties in Washington Township have been targeted and in cases that I know, their property tax increased by over 4 percent at a time when the municipal budget did not increase.

The local administration turned their backs on 2,700 residents who signed a petition, and when I approached the state senate president on behalf of the 2,700 residents, we received no acknowledgment at all from him.

Utilities (electric and gas) combined increased by 5.5 percent. The political WTMUA board voted to increase water/sewer rates for every single customer. This is a small sample of the ridiculous accomplishments of our political leaders during the last 12 months. These are good people, I know many of them, but their accomplishments as political leaders are not acceptable. In private sector, these types of failures get you fired.

In spite of these ridiculous accomplishments, our elected officials are asking to be reelected by sending out messages with empty promises and fake pledges. This is beyond insanity. This is a time to vote the political cesspool out. I am voting for all challengers. I hope you join me.
