WTHS junior and senior class councils donate to Red Cross for hurricane relief

The groups donated more than $3,500 to benefit hurricane victims

Pictured is Washington Township High School senior class advisor Carol Costello (back row, far left), who presented a check for $3,500 to American Red Cross volunteer Stephanie Magee. Joining in the presentation were members of the school’s junior and senior class councils and WTHS principal Ann Moore (back row, far right).

Members of the Washington Township High School junior and senior class councils enlisted the help of the district staff, through a dress down day, their classmates and those in attendance at two home football games through coin drops to raise $3,550. The money was donated to the American Red Cross to benefit hurricane victims.

Volunteer Stephanie Magee stopped by the school on Nov. 8 to congratulate the group on their civic-mindedness, express her gratitude and accept the donation on behalf of the Red Cross.
