Washington Township High School alumnus Eric Ring looks toward making the school’s wrestling team one of South Jersey’s top programs as new head coach, while 70 high school students were inducted into the National Honor Society. Eric Ring hoping to make Washington Township wrestling a perennial winner
Eric Ring is hoping to get Washington Township back on top in South Jersey as the Minutemen’s new head coach through instilling some of the values he remembers from his time wrestling. Ring brings a wealth of experience to the head coaching position. After his high school career ended at Washington Township, Ring wrestled at Division I Edinboro University, a consistent top-25 program in the country at the time. After college, Ring landed a job as an assistant coach with Drexel University for six years before coming back home to Washington Township High School as an assistant for former head coach Ron Ippolite.
WTHS’s National Honor Society to induct 70 new members on Jan. 10
The Washington Township High School National Honor Society, under the direction of Advisors Bernadette Bogacki and Lauren Deacon, will induct 70 new members during its annual induction ceremony on Wednesday, Jan. 10, at 7 p.m. in the school’s Investors Bank Performing Arts Center. These 70 new members bring the total number of current juniors and seniors in the National Honor Society to 146 honorees.
Washington Township schools plan events around Martin Luther King Jr. Day
The Washington Township public schools will honor Martin Luther King Jr. with activities throughout the district’s schools both this week and next week. King’s birthday, a federal holiday, will be observed on Monday, Jan. 15, and the district will be closed in observance of the holiday.
