Washington Twp. boys soccer to play for state championship on Saturday

The Minutemen defeated East Brunswick, 4–0, on Tuesday night in the NJSIAA Group IV state semifinals.

Chad Yates led Washington Township with two goals in Tuesday’s 4–0 win over East Brunswick in the NJSIAA Group IV state semifinals.

Washington Township High School boys soccer is just one win away from a state championship. The Minutemen cruised past East Brunswick, 4–0, on Tuesday night in the NJSIAA Group IV state semifinals at Rowan University.

Chad Yates led Washington Township in scoring with two goals. Also scoring for the Minutemen were Alex Desiderio and Sam Flaiano. Goalkeeper Mike Pagano earned the shutout for Washington Township.

The Minutemen will try to win their third state title in five seasons on Saturday as they battle Morris Knolls in the NJSIAA Group IV state championship game. The match will take place at Kean University beginning at 10 a.m.
