Dr. Brian Smeal leads a team of wound care specialists at Kennedy’s Center for Advanced Wound Care & Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Brian Smeal, MD, has joined The Center for Advanced Wound Care & Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at Kennedy as medical director.
Dr. Smeal leads a team of wound care specialists at Kennedy’s Washington Township center, which offers leading-edge treatments including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure therapies, bioengineered tissues, and biosynthetics to reintroduce the body’s innate ability to heal. Once a patient’s chronic wound is healed, they are returned to their primary care physician to continue non-wound-related care.
Dr. Smeal received his master’s degree in biology from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, he is a certified wound specialist through the American Board of Wound Management. Dr. Smeal has been treating chronic wounds for more than 11 years, most recently serving as medical director at the Center for Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Medicine at Trinitas Medical Center in Elizabeth.
A fellow of the College of Certified Wound Specialists and the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Smeal is also a member of the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine, the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medicine Society and the American Society of Breast Cancer Surgeons. Dr. Smeal is a 23-year resident of Mullica Hill, where he resides with his family.
