First off, I am so proud of my friend Lisa DeAugustine for standing up and trying to help our community!
I have worked with Lisa for years on Eastern High School’s Project Graduation. This is a tireless job with no pay and plenty of hard work. She shows such dedication toward change in our community. I was so proud to have worked with her this past month on a Fundraiser for Domestic Violence Awareness. It was the first time for this event, and I know how hard it is to work on fundraisers. Lisa never let herself get overwhelmed, which is not easy — if you have ever worked on anything like this you would understand.
I am very happy and proud to have a lawn sign at my home to support her and Carmine Valentino, her running mate. I know that they will face many challenges and never back down. It is just not in either one of them to quit.
So in closing I will proudly vote for the change I truly believe our wonderful community needs, and I thank both Lisa and Carmine for their persistence in trying to make our community stronger.
