June 22 marks Samaritan Drive “FORE! A Good Cause” golf tournament
Drive “FORE! A Good Cause,” Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice Annual Golf Tournament, presented by The Richardson Family Dealerships, will take place on Monday, June 22. The 18-hole scramble format tournament, held at Little Mill Country Club, will have a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. Registration opens at 9:30 a.m. An awards reception and dinner will follow at 4:30 p.m.
Samaritan’s annual golf tournament has two important goals: to raise funds and to raise awareness. For the last 35 years, Samaritan’s not-for-profit services have helped people in our community to live each day fully and with dignity, even as they cope with issues of aging, serious illness and grief.
“Samaritan’s not-for-profit mission has been serving our community for 35 years,” said Mary Ann Boccolini, President and CEO. “Supporting ‘Drive FORE! A Good Cause’ helps Samaritan continue its proud tradition of never turning anyone away from our hospice and palliative care and grief support services due to an inability to pay.”
Golfers are also encouraged to participate in the “Dress Loud Contest” by dressing as loudly as their inhibitions permit. They can wear their most colorful pants, hats or shirts (that still conform to Little Mill’s dress code) for a chance to win a trophy and bragging rights for the year, and then help us “drive” home the message that Samaritan’s expanded Family of Services are here to serve all who need them.
The entrance fee of $295 includes continental breakfast, lunch, commemorative sports shirt, greens fees and cart, refreshments on the golf course, awards dinner reception and player gift package.
The event features hole-in-one contests to win luxury automobiles and other prizes, such as mulligans, 50/50 raffles, a silent auction and various individual and foursome awards.
