Letter: Police thanked for their generosity in Tabernacle

The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Holy Eucharist Church, Tabernacle, would like to personally thank the Red Lion State Police for again adopting a family this Christmas.

This is the third year they have gone out of their way to help a family in need. Each year, they contact our organization for a name of a family to adopt for Christmas.

In October, Sgt. Mark Fichtner contacted our society to make arrangements to help a family who might be struggling during these hard economic times.

The society provided the state police with a family they could adopt and a list of Christmas gifts the family was in need of.

Money is collected from the officers to buy the gifts.

We are very fortunate to have the Red Lion State Police protecting our surrounding communities — and being so caring and generous in making Christmas special for a family going through some difficult times.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society salutes the officers of the Red Lion State Police for their kindness and generosity in helping us help others.
