Stay safe this holiday season

Christmas trees, candles, electrical decorations and cooking all contribute to an increased number of home fires during December, making it one of the leading months for U.S. home fires.

To help everyone enjoy a fire-safe holiday season, the National Fire Protection Association is encouraging everyone to be aware of potential fire risks, hoping to ultimately minimize the amount of fires.

Seneca High School inducted 71 students into National Honor Society

Senior student Abigail Cosper is pictured as she is inducted into the National Honor Society at Seneca High School on Dec. 6. She shakes the hands of Principal Jeff Spector, Superintendent Carol Birnbohm, LRHSD board of education President Margaret Estlow and board member Linda Eckenhoff.

As an organization that has been honoring students since 1921, NHS welcomed 71 Seneca High School students at the 16th Annual Induction Ceremony on Dec. 6.
