Seneca students take part in a workshop presented by the Anti-Defamation League
On March 1, 23 Seneca High School students participated in the second of three-part workshop as part of “A World of Difference Institute Peer Leadership Program” through the Anti-Defamation League.
The program is designed for Seneca Peer Leaders to develop strategies to “effectively challenge name calling, put-downs, and insensitive remarks.” In addition, participants will be equipped with the skills and materials to run workshops for their peers. Mrs. Martin-Lee, Seneca High School business teacher, participated in the training. She commented, “The students are having deep conversations that are needed, especially in today’s environment. The last session was a great start, and I’m looking forward to the next dates because we have built a great foundation of trust.”
The training complements Seneca High School’s and Lenape Regional High School District’s No Place for Hate and Upstander initiatives, which both take a proactive approach to challenging biases, celebrating diversity, and creating an inclusive environment for all students.
