What happened to Autumn?
Deptford Township residents can expect a messy commute on Thursday as a mixed precipitation – snow, rain, ice – is expected between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory, which means there will be periods of snow, sleet, and freezing rain.
They’re calling for minimal snow (accumulations) up to one inch and ice accumulations of “light glaze.” This translates to roadways that will make it look like winter is here, even though it’s officially still more than a month away.
If you’re heading out Thursday, exercise caution and give yourself extra time. Expect delays as limited visibility and slippery roads could create a less-than-ideal combination.
The temperature is expected to hover in the low to mid 30s for much of the day. It’s expected to warm up as the night progresses, but the forecast is also calling for rain for the majority of Thursday evening.
Good news? So far, it looks like the weekend could be much better: sunny skies with a high of 48 on Saturday.
But be careful out there on Thursday.
