The traffic zone outside of St. Teresa Regional School could also be reduced to 25 mph.
At its latest meeting, Gloucester Township Council changed the speed limit to 35 mph along Salina Road. This would affect an intersection with a private lane almost 3,000 feet west of Woodbury-Turnersville Road. From that intersection to Blackwood-Mt. Pleasant Road, the speed limit will remain at 45 mph.
Regulatory and warning signs will be erected and maintained.
More speed limit changes could be in store, as on first reading, council passed an ordinance that could potentially reduce the school zone limit to 25 mph outside of St. Teresa Regional School in Runnemede. If passed at the next meeting, this speed would specifically be enforced when children are present along Evesham Road.
Also along the lines of revised traffic provisions, council passed another ordinance on first reading that would prohibit cars, buses, trailers and recreational vehicles from parking overnight inside the Royal Farms lot located at 1409 Blackwood-Clementon Road. From 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., all cars would be towed if parked along exit/entrance ways, loading zones, oil fills, grassy areas or pedestrian walkways.
Also at the meeting, council inserted a new item into the budget, a grant related to the Gloucester Township Police Department’s management of crime statistics. The township recently received more than $34,000 from the National Crime Statistics Exchange Grant.
These funds will support the purchase of a computer interface program provided by a CAD computer vendor to “accommodate the influx and transition” of new data to the National Incident-Based Reporting System. The police department will also purchase a new Dell computer server to assist with the new volumes of information.

- Since the fireworks display on Gloucester Township Day was canceled due to inclement weather, the spectacle will be held on National Night Out, which is scheduled for Aug. 7.
