Families of 2017 Kindergarteners and students new to first grade are encouraged not to delay.
Families of incoming 2017 full day kindergarteners and new to school first graders in the Burlington Township School District are urged to register their students in the upcoming weeks. The school district is offering designated registration times from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. April 3 to April 7 as well as 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. April 6 and April 11.
The district is encouraging early registration for parents who want their children to participate in the district’s “new to K” teacher interview and assessment the week of April 24. Those looking to register should allot approximately an hour to complete the process.
Children must be five years old on or before October 1, 2017 and residents of Burlington Township in order to be eligible for BTSD kindergarten during the 2017 to 2018 school year. This first grade registration applies to students new to the BTSD. Children currently in kindergarten at the B. Bernice Young School do not need to register for first grade.
The district advises against waiting until August to register as assessment slots are limited and will be done before May.
