Brittany Snow recently signed on to play basketball at Stony Brook University. Snow is a senior at Seneca High School and plays post and forward. She is six-foot-tall and last year averaged 17.3 points a game.

“I started playing basketball in the third or fourth grade,” Snow said. “I also played in middle school, and then I started playing varsity my freshman year.”

Snow also played softball and soccer up until her junior year, but basketball was always her №1 sport.

“Basketball was the sport I enjoyed the most. I had the most fun doing it,” Snow said.

Snow has made the All South Jersey Second Team and was awarded the Goldman Eagle Award as a high school player.

“For the All South Jersey Second team, my coach had to submit me and vote me in. For the Goldman Eagle Award, that is one given by Seneca,” Snow said. “The coach gives it out.”

Snow talked to a lot of colleges before deciding to settle on Stony Brook. The team and academics are what helped her make her final decision about attending the school.

“I talked to a lot of schools, Divisions One through Three,” Snow said. “I really liked the team and coaches at the school. The academics were the cherry on top. I was lucky. I worked hard and eventually I knew it would happen, and it did. I always dream and admired the girls and guys that played basketball at the college level. I’m excited to go next year.”

“I want to become a doctor or pursue something similar in the medical field,” Snow said. “I don’t know, I’ll probably change my mind a bunch of times.”

“I love playing at Seneca,” Snow said. “It’s a great family team. All the girls love being part of the team. I am happy to be part of it, it’s a great feeling.”
