Burlington County establishes Intergovernmental Task Force

Freeholder Director Bruce Garganio announced the establishment of an Intergovernmental Task Force charged with expediting the county’s new Workforce Development Initiative.

“Since it’s unveiling in January of this year, the Workforce Development Initiative has been a top priority of this freeholder board and for me,” Garganio said. “Through my professional experience as a union carpenter, I have seen firsthand the importance of matching job training and education to the specific and ever evolving needs of our local businesses. The purpose of this initiative is to do just that and to do it in a coordinated manner.”

“To that end I am establishing an Intergovernmental Task Force, which I will personally chair as freeholder director,” Garganio continued, “Together, we on this task force will be responsible for expediting this initiative, ensuring that it receives top priority and eliminating any obstacles or red tape that it might face.”

Other members of the Task Force will include:

County Administrator Paul Drayton

BCC Interim-President Dr. Spang

Superintendent Manno from BCIT and BCSSS

The Honorable Joe Malone as municipal representative

County Library Director Rajna Das

Economic Development and Regional Planning Director Mark Remsa

Workforce Development Initiative Director Leah Arter

County Human Services Director Anna Payanzo

County Employment and Training Division Manager Kelly West

County Information Technology Director Nick Behmke

“I look forward to continuing to update the public as we move forward and make tangible progress for the residents of Burlington County.” Garganio concluded.
