Craft show, farmer’s market and lunch with Santa to take place in December
Palmyra residents can start to spread holiday cheer this winter with holiday events starting in the first week of December and continuing through the end of the year. From the annual craft fair to activities at the library, there’s something for every Palmyra resident this holiday season.
Holiday Craft Show
The Palmyra Band Parents Association is holding its annual craft fair on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Palmyra High School. The craft fair has been a tradition at the high school for more than 35 years. Susan Van Emburgh, the Palmyra Band Parents Association president who has been involved with the event for the past eight years, says the show is a great opportunity for residents to get a head start on their holiday shopping while also having fun.
“The high school band will play at different times during the day, and Santa Claus will be there,” Van Emburgh said. “We’ve always had a great turnout.”
The show will include vendors, crafters, concessions and raffles. Items for raffle include American Girl Dolls, bicycles and gift baskets.
Farmer’s Market
The Burlington County Community Agricultural Center will have a special holiday farmer’s market day on Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The market will feature fall fruits and vegetables, local cranberries and honey, artisan cheeses and chocolates, fresh pies and local crafters and artists. There will also be a Toys for Tots drive, hot coffee and fresh holiday turkeys.

Victorian Holiday Celebration
The Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders is once again presenting the Victorian Holiday Celebration on Dec. 4 from noon until 4 p.m. at the Historic Smithville Park in Eastampton.
Santa will arrive at 1 p.m. by horse and carriage. Other festivities will include carriage rides, vendors, ice carving, face painting, crafts, strolling performers and storytime with Mrs. Claus.
Smithville Mansion tours will also be available for a nominal fee. Back by popular demand are Olaf, The Grinch, s’mores and train rides.
The Historic Smithville Park is located at 803 Smithville Road in Eastampton. Admission is free for the Victorian Holiday Celebration.
Lunch with Santa
Curran’s Irish Inn will be holding a Lunch with Santa event on Saturday, Dec. 10 starting at 3 p.m. Each $15 ticket includes a kids menu lunch, crafts, face painting and a wrapped gift from Santa himself. Reservation and payment is required ahead of time so that enough gifts will be available.
Local acoustic performer Lucky Leo will provide live entertainment and A Toys for Tots bin will be set up at the restaurant to accept donations.

Holiday Library Events
The Riverton Free Library is holding various holiday events and classes this December. On Saturday, Dec. 3 at 10:30 a.m., the library will be holding a program for kids ages 7 to 12 years to play Dreidel. There will be directions for first-timers and chocolate coins to keep and eat.
There will be a snow globe workshop on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 6:30 p.m. where participants can choose a scene, decide what type of snow they’d like to use and even include a picture inside. This event is for kids and adults ages 12 and older.
On Saturday, Dec. 10, head to the library around noon to make a Tree of Life pendant to keep or give as a gift.
Santa will be paying the library a visit on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. Kids are welcome to bring their holiday wish list and tell Santa what they want for Christmas this year.
On Sunday, Dec. 17 there will be a gingerbread house workshop at 10:30 a.m and a Kwanzaa Kinara workshop at 3 p.m.
