Palmyra Police Department provides prescription medicine drop box

Department wishes to address improper disposal of prescription drugs

The Palmyra Police Department has a prescription medicine dropbox available in the lobby of their headquarters at 20 W. Broad Street. After researching the problem the department purchased a medications drop box from MedReturn in 2011.

Accepted at the dropbox will be household prescription medicines which include controlled substances (such as Vicodin, Percocet and Ritalin), over-the-counter medicines and pet medicines.

No illegal drugs, needles, medicines from businesses, batteries, trash, medical devices, mercury thermometers, cosmetics or liquids will be accepted.

Access to the box is during Borough business hours Monday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
