This holiday season, the Harrison Township Policeman’s Benevolent Association Local 178 are hosting their 2nd annual toy drive in front of the Target store in Mantua on Dec. 1 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The N.J. State Police Benevolence Association (PBA) conducts a yearly toy drive where representatives from every PBA local throughout N.J. collects new and unwrapped toys and brings them to the state PBA meeting in December where they are then disbursed among families throughout NJ.

Last year, we conducted our own toy drive in front of the Target store in Mantua where we stood outside the store and asked people for toy donations as they walked inside the store. The event was a massive success and we were bombarded with toy donations.

We took the toy donations to the state PBA meeting to be disbursed among families throughout the state. We also retained a large amount of toys that we disbursed through various avenues to families in need in our immediate community. We are one of the smallest PBA locals in the state of N.J. in regards to membership, however, we provided one of the biggest donations in the state.

As a result of our success last year, we are conducting the toy drive again.

The members of PBA Local 178 are requesting new, unwrapped toy donations for children of all ages throughout the day. The PBA Local 178 toy drive is one of the most successful events within the organization that benefits families both locally and throughout the entire state. Your participation is greatly appreciated and we look forward to seeing everyone from the community.
