June is Men’s Health Month; County offering free screenings

Free blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, dermascan and dexascan screenings will be conducted by public health nurses and staff from the Gloucester County Department of Health

In honor of June being nationally recognized as Men’s Health Month, the Gloucester County Department of Health will be offering free health screenings for men.

Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said, “These free screenings will allow men to gain a better understanding of their current health and make changes, if necessary, to live a healthier life.”

Free blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, dermascan and dexascan screenings will be conduced by public health nurses and staff from the Gloucester County Department of Health.

Freeholder Jim Jefferson, liaison to the Department of Health and Human Services said, “Men owe it to themselves and their families to live a healthy life. These screenings promote healthy living among the men of our county, and they are cost and pain free, so there is no excuse not get checked out.”

Screenings will take place on the following days at the following locations:

June 15 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Thorofare Fire Hall, Firehouse Road, Thorofare.

June 25 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Gloucester County Health Department, 204 East Holly Ave., Sewell.
