Man linked to several alleged January and February burglaries in latest Mt. Laurel Police Report

The following reports are on file with the Mt. Laurel Township Police Department:

On March 19, the Mt. Laurel Police Department arrested a 28-year-old male from Woodbury for multiple offenses.

Police say the male was developed after an extensive investigation regarding several burglaries that occurred throughout January and February within Burlington County.

Through interagency cooperation between the Mt. Laurel Police Department, Delran Police Department, Moorestown Police Department and Cinnaminson Police Department, Mt. Laurel detectives developed evidence to identify the male as the person in a burglary that occurred on Jan. 17 on Laurel Lane and an attempted burglary and subsequent robbery that occurred on Jan. 19 on Monmouth Drive.

In the latter case, the male robbed a witness of a cellular telephone who was recording the event. The male was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief for the burglary on Laurel Lane.

He was charged with robbery, hindering by force, hindering by destruction of evidence, attempted burglary, theft, simple assault, and criminal mischief for the attempted burglary and robbery on Monmouth Drive.

He was committed to the Burlington County Jail on separate arrest warrants.

On March 22, the Mt. Laurel Police Department additionally charged the male with burglary, theft and criminal mischief for a burglary that occurred on Knotty Oak Drive on Jan. 2. He was served with the additional charges while incarcerated.

On March 25 at 3:50 p.m., patrols responded to Target at 4 Centerton Road for the report of a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, patrols took a 49-year-old female from Mantua into custody after she was observed by store loss prevention concealing store merchandise valued at $140 in her shopping cart and covering it with a coat. The female was charged with shoplifting on a summons. She was turned over to Mantua Police for an outstanding criminal warrant.

On March 24 at 6:15 p.m., patrols responded to ShopRite at 1000 Nixon Drive for the report of a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, patrols took a 51-year-old female from Maple Shade into custody after she was observed by store loss prevention concealing store merchandise valued at $53.80 in her jacket. The female was processed and charged with shoplifting. She was released on a summons pending a future court date.

On March 23 at 2:49 p.m., patrols responded to the area of Route 38 and Briggs Road for a report of an erratic driver. The suspect vehicle was located and multiple motor vehicle violations were observed. After stopping the suspect vehicle, a 28-year-old male passenger from Lumberton was determined to need medical attention. A 26-year-old female passenger from Lumberton was observed to be attempting to hide items in her pants and under the seat of the vehicle. Drug paraphernalia and a pill, later determined to be Xanax, were observed in plain view. All occupants denied ownership and were subsequently arrested. During the arrest, additional drugs and drug paraphernalia were located. The driver, a 27-year-old male from Hainesport, was charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. The female was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and concealing evidence. The male passenger was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. All arrestees were released on a summons pending a future court date.

On March 22 at 8:02 p.m., patrols responded to a residence on the 600 block of Cypress Point Circle for the report of a fraud. The 83-year-old victim/resident reported that an unknown person called her via phone and identified himself as a member of the FBI and IRS. The caller demanded that the victim purchase $4,000 worth of gift cards and provide the number and PIN number of the cards. The victim purchased the cards and provided the requested information before learning that the call was a scam.

On March 22 at 11:46 a.m., patrols responded to a motel on the 600 block of Fellowship Road for the report of a criminal mischief and theft. Management reported that a guest, who was staying in one of the rooms, caused $1,050 in damage and stole two lampshades. A 35-year-old guest from Philadelphia was no longer on scene.

On March 22 at 10:20 a.m., patrols responded to the area of the 1200 block of Route 73 for the report of a road rage incident. Upon arrival, patrols located two males arguing in a parking lot. It was determined that the argument took place after one of the drivers passed and cut off the other driver. After stopping in the lot, one of the drivers challenged the other to a fight. No fight occurred.

On March 22 at 10:39 a.m., patrols conducted a motor vehicle stop on Mt. Laurel Road in the area of Amaryllis Boulevard after the suspect vehicle attempted to leave the scene after a crash. Subsequent investigation lead to the arrest of a 61-year-old male from Sicklerville for driving while intoxicated. He was processed and released to a family member pending a future court date for multiple traffic violations.

On March 20 at 11 p.m., patrols, medics and Mt. Laurel EMS responded to a motel on the 500 block of Fellowship Road for the report of an unconscious male. On arrival, EMS encountered the 27-year-old male who was unconscious due to what is believed to be an opioid overdose. Narcan was administered and the male regained consciousness. He was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
