Burlington County Women’s Advisory Council to honor ‘Outstanding Women of 2018’

Honorees will be recognized at the annual awards reception on May 2.

Burlington County Freeholder Director Kate Gibbs has announced the recipients of the 2018 Annual Outstanding Women of Burlington County Awards.

Honorees will be recognized at the annual awards reception which be held on Wednesday, May 2, at 5:30 p.m. at the Merion in Cinnaminson.

“Every year it is such great privilege and honor to recognize women in Burlington County that contribute to our community through their exceptional leadership, dedication, and achievements,” Gibbs said. “I look forward to recognizing these incredible role models and hope to inspire other women to follow in their footsteps.”

Each year, the Women’s Advisory Council recognizes adult women working in education, mentorship, community service, social services and law, as well as three female students who have made significant impacts in their communities.

Recognized this year are Mildred Scholtz, Warden of the Burlington County Jail, who will be receiving the brand-new Trailblazer award; Nicole Marie Gregory, a fourth-grade teacher and a safety patrol officer in the Willingboro School District; Kimberly Reuben, a speech-language pathologist and district evaluator for the child study teams at the Pemberton Township School District; Lauren Beetle, a partner with the firm Hyland Levin, LLP; Christine Vespe, Superintendent of Schools for Shamong Township Public Schools and Amy Dean, executive director of the nonprofit “Faith In Action! Inc”, who will be recognized for her work in social services.

Lenape Regional High School Students Meghan Vizzard and Lauren Rosenberg, and Kelly Mesisca of Delran High School, will each receive $1,000 scholarships as part of the ceremony as well.

This year’s reception will feature a completely new format — one hour of networking with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, followed by an awards program that will showcase videos of the honorees.

Tickets are $75 and may be purchased by contacting Christine Brown at [email protected] or by calling (609) 265–5020.
