The Mt. Laurel Library is distributing free “A Library Champion Lives Here” yard signs to everyone who registers for the summer reading program. In the first 5 days of the program, over 150 signs were distributed.
“This idea came from a library advocacy and leadership program sponsored by the Library Journal called “Lead the Change. We felt it would work well in Mt. Laurel,” Kathy Schalk-Greene, the director of the library said.
To further promote the summer reading program, the library is collecting photos of library champions to share online.
Early responses from the community have been positive.
“We’ve got three Library Champions! Thanks for this program! It’s awesome!” said library customer Theresa Maschke.
To make this innovative promotion possible, Acerbo’s Auto Trim and Lettering co-sponsored the project.
