Prospective members can attend the Nov. 1 meeting as a guest of the chapter.
The Mt. Laurel AARP Chapter will hold its next meeting on Thursday, Nov. 1 at the Mt. Laurel Community Center, located at 100 Mt. Laurel Road.
The meeting will begin at 1 p.m.
Joe Truitt will host a presentation entitled “Movies and More.”
Truitt has taught movie classes at the Katz JCC in Cherry Hill for more than 25 years. He also hosts the “Oscar Movie Night” program at Barnes & Noble in Moorestown and Cherry Hill.
He has recently begun a program on “Books and Movies” at the Mt Laurel Library, one Sunday a month.
The meeting will also feature a tribute to veterans by the Lenape Regional High School JROTC, with a flag presentation.
Final reservations will also be accepted for the chapter’s annual holiday luncheon, set this year for Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Indian Spring Country Club, located at 115 Elmwood Road in Marlton.
The luncheon will take place that day from 1 to 4 p.m. with an admission price of $30 per person.
Entertainment will be provided by the Al’s Chorale Singers.
Admission includes a choice of filet mignon with stuffed shrimp, honey glazed salmon or chicken champignon stuffed with mushrooms and asiago cheese. All are welcome to join at the upcoming meeting or luncheon.
