Updated library at Mt. Laurel’s Parkway Elementary School commemorates former librarian
It’s been decades since Harriet Stearns first walked the halls of Parkway Elementary School, where district officials say she served as the school’s first librarian from 1970 through her retirement in 1989. And while the Moorestown, later-turned-Medford, resident may have passed away in November 2014 at age 88, her memory and love of reading will continue to live on at Parkway for decades to come.
Mt. Laurel Fraternal Order of Police hosting Halloween Trunk or Treat Safe Zone Oct. 27
On Oct. 27, families can join the Mt. Laurel FOP Lodge No. 191 for a “Halloween Trunk or Treat Safe Zone” in the Countryside section of town. Mt. Laurel residents are invited to stop by Countryside Elementary School from 6 to 9 p.m. to have some free Halloween fun at this designated safety point.
Burlington County partners with Virtua to offer free mobile mammogram screenings Oct. 23
The Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders is partnering with Virtua to offer free mobile mammogram screenings on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at the Burlington County Health Department in Westampton. Burlington County Board of Chosen Freeholders Director Kate Gibbs said the effort will enhance the health and wellness of women in the county.

Lenape Regional High School District invites public to strategic planning meetings
The Lenape Regional High School District invites the community to take part in a series of meetings to help the district create a strategic plan that will guide for the next five years. The administration will hold a series of four community engagement sessions, beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Cherokee High School.
