The Mt. Laurel MUA completed a sanitary sewer piping project at the intersection of Union Mill and Moorestown-Mt. Laurel roads during the weekend of Nov. 15.
During this scheduled repair, there was a pipe component failure that necessitated an earlier and much longer than scheduled, request to reduce water entering the sanitary sewer system. Crews worked through the night on Nov. 15 and all day on Nov. 16. At 5 p.m. on Nov. 16, crews were able to bring all of the pumping stations that feed into the pipe being repaired back on line and running. Customers were advised to resume normal use at 6 p.m. in order to allow the sanitary sewer system time to recover.
The paving originally scheduled for Monday has been postponed due to weather and will now take place beginning Tuesday morning. Local traffic pattern changes and temporary detours will remain in place through Tuesday afternoon so that the roadway can be properly restored.
