In sickness and in health: husband keeps promise to his wife
On Saturday, Nov. 18, Ed and Terry promised once again to love each other for better or for worse, for richer or poorer and in sickness and health. For Ed, this promise has taken on a new meaning in the last few years following Terry’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis in 2011. In the lobby of CareOne Harmony Village in Moorestown, a suited Ed stood awaiting his bride who, dressed entirely in white, processed toward him to the soft sound of “Here Comes the Bride” played by a harpist. Surrounded by family, staff and residents of CareOne, Ed sat beside Terry whispering to her from time to time as Father Damian McElroy from Our Lady of Good Counsel in Moorestown read from 1 Corinthians.
Moorestown resident ‘draws’ inspiration to write books from life’s challenges
Despite being fearful and unsure of what lay ahead, Williams knew he wanted to set an example for his young daughter to look back on. He said he wanted to demonstrate the importance of remaining strong when life throws challenges your way, and so he decided to make his long-deferred dream of writing a children’s book a reality. Williams is fundraising via a Kickstarter campaign to self-publish his book “The Good Night Knight.” Williams is fundraising until Dec. 1, and his goal is to raise $4,500 to finance the book’s publication. To date, he has raised approximately $4,000.
Project Blanket Buddiezz weaves warmth for those in need this holiday season
Last September, as Amaal Khan’s 16th birthday approached, her parents asked her how she wanted to celebrate. Her mother, Huma, said the family had allocated funds for each of the three Khan children to host a 16th birthday celebration. Huma said she asked her daughter if she wanted to rent a limo or do something else special for the milestone, and she was pleasantly surprised by Amaal’s reply that she wanted the funds to go toward a good cause. On Monday, Nov. 20, fourth through sixth graders at the Upper Elementary School, alongside members of Moorestown High School’s Interact Club, fulfilled Amaal’s hope of putting the funds toward a good cause. Project: Blanket Buddiezz had students working in teams to weave no-sew fleece blankets to be delivered to Providence House, a center for victims of domestic abuse and children in Westampton.
