How is rowing on the Thames different than the Schuykill?

Earlier this summer, several local rowers from Camden County left the friendly confines of the Schuykill and Cooper Rivers to travel halfway around the world to compete in an international competition.

The Boys Varsity Quad from St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia were the first St. Joseph’s Prep crew team in history to compete for the Fawley Cup at the Royal Henley Regatta on the Thames in England.

The boys accompanied the Varsity 8 which competed in the Princess Elizabeth Cup regatta.
