Charity Book Event Taking Place in Moorestown

On Sunday, August 7, UBUbiz will be hosting a book event called Bookitcon: Chapter Two at the Moorestown Community House. The event will run from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and it includes book signings, meet-and-greets with the participating authors, and two author panels. VIP ticket holders will gain early access to the author meet and greets, along with admittance to an after party with dinner.

UBUbiz is partnering with multiple K-8 schools in Camden to supply new books to their libraries and with the non-profit Grace in the Mud. Grace in the Mud’s mission is to empower 9–11 year old girls through positive identity formation, character development, and community service connections. A book drive is hosted concurrent to the event and the books will be distributed to the schools and the nonprofit. In addition, the profits from the event will going towards the Camden K-8 schools and Grace in the Mud.

According to Nori Horvitz, the CEO and founder of UBUbiz, the company was started due to her passion for business, community service, and books. “Ever since I was little, I have loved reading. I was the type of child who begged my parents to let me visit my local library daily. When I heard that there were schools within an hour’s drive from me that had virtually no library, I was shocked. I knew that I had to do something about it, and that is how UBUbiz was formed. Reading taught me many life lessons, and allowed me to experience things that only existed in my dreams. I want reading to be a part of the normal childhood experience; I want everyone to have the opportunity to read.”

Nori wanted to put together an event that would allow her to raise money in order to help school libraries that had little to no books. UBUbiz is currently selling tickets and accepting donations for Bookitcon through their website. For people unable to attend the event, online book sales are also available through the website.
