On Thursday, Oct. 13, the Burlington Township Police Department apprehended a sexual assault fugitive wanted by the Bloomsburg University Police Department.
Officers initiated their search for the male suspect within an apartment complex located on the Burlington Bypass in Burlington Township, NJ after being alerted to the fact that he was wanted for a sexual assault involving a juvenile that occurred on the campus of Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.
Intelligence indicated that the suspect’s vehicle was recently observed in the apartment complex. Therefore, the officers initiated an investigation and identified a possible apartment where he was staying. At approximately 4:24 PM, after several hours of surveillance, the suspect was located and arrested without incident.
At the time of his arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of CDS as well as drug paraphernalia. He was charged with being a fugitive of justice, possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia prior to being lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of $27,000Â bail.
In addition, Bloomsburg University Police Department was notified of his arrest so that extradition proceedings could be initiated for his charges out of that jurisdiction.
