MTPS District to implement Tuition Program

The Moorestown Township Public School District Board of Education has approved the implementation of a Tuition Program aimed at providing the district with an alternative source of funding. The program is scheduled to begin with the 2017–2018 school year and will accept students in K-12th grade.

Security Workshop for New Jersey Faith-based Institutions

The Jewish Community Relations Council of Southern New Jersey and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are hosting a one-day workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Katz Jewish Center, located at 1301 Springdale Road in Cherry Hill, to enhance preparedness against active shooter incidents.

MoorArts hosts gala: “An Evening of Performing and Fine Art”

Dedicated to supporting the fine and performing arts in Moorestown Township Public Schools and throughout the entire community, MoorArts hosts a variety of programs and events throughout the year. The organization will be holding its third bi-annual gala, “An Evening of Performing and Fine Art,” on Saturday, Jan. 28 from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Community House.

Scott Carew resigns as Moorestown Township Manager

Curiosity first arose when Moorestown Township Manager Scott Carew was absent from the 2017 reorganization meeting at the beginning of the month. Now, two weeks later, it was announced at a special meeting the township has accepted Carew’s resignation after he served nearly six years in the position.

Kahra Buss named Moorestown “Citizen of the Year”

At just 9 months old, Kahra Buss and her family moved to Moorestown, and ever since she has come to call the “old-fashioned town” home. After years of doing her part to give back to her community and remain engaged around town, Buss was recently named Moorestown’s 2017 “Citizen of the Year.”

MHS boys basketball coach reaches 100th win

Shawn Anstey has earned his 100th career win as the boys basketball head coach at Moorestown High School after the team’s 73–30 win over Cedar Creek High School on Saturday, Jan. 14.

Moorestown Council announces launch of Moorestown TV

​On Tuesday, Jan. 17, the Moorestown Town Council announced the official launch of the Moorestown TV section of the Township website. Moorestown TV will be a place where residents can access recordings of Town Council meetings in their entirety, allowing those who cannot attend in person to see their government in action.

Historical Society to host talk on “New Jersey’s Multiple Municipal Madness”

The Historical Society of Moorestown, in conjunction with the Moorestown Library, announces “New Jersey’s Multiple Municipal Madness,” a talk presented by Michael DiCamillo on Wednesday, January 18 at 7 p.m. The site will be the Moorestown Library, located at 111 W 2nd Street, in Meeting Room A.

MHS encourages students to “follow dreams” with MLK assembly

While Martin Luther King Jr. Day is most often associated with the fight for equal rights, Moorestown High School sought to teach a greater message to its students during two tribute assemblies on Thursday, Jan. 12. With the theme being “follow your dreams,” students were given various examples of the greatness that can result from pursuing goals, such as in the case of MLK himself.
