Want to serve on The Medford Township K-8 district’s Board of Education? The deadline to get on the ballot is fast approaching.
Board members Ann Davidson, Katherine Santamore, and Debra Tarrant are set to see their seats expire this year, leaving three seats open for this year’s race.
Candidates that wish to see their names on the ballot during the April 27 school board election must file a nominating petition with the district Board secretary’s office by March 8 at 4 p.m.
Valid petitions must include at least 10 signatures from registered voters living within the Medford K-8 school district. Each candidate running in the election needs to submit a petition, including incumbent candidates.
Requirements for potential school board members include being able to read and write, holding U.S. citizenship and at least one year’s residency in the school district, being a registered voter before filing a nominating petition, having no interest in any contract with the board and no claim against the board, and holding no other elected office term.
