Art, Wine and Music Festival is almost here

Released by the Recreation Advisory Board

Tents filled with fine arts, colorful crafts, fine wine and good food will line Medford’s Main Street on Sunday afternoon, June 3, from noon to 4 p.m. as the annual Art, Wine and Music Festival returns to mark the start of summer. Main Street in beautiful Medford Village will be closed so that visitors can stroll the street to enjoy the festivities. South Jersey wineries will be interspersed between the arts and crafts booths and local bands will play music throughout the afternoon. Food will be available from local eateries and other food vendors. More than 3,000 visitors are expected to attend this annual event presented by the Medford Arts Center, the Medford Business Association and ShopRite of Medford.

There is no cost to attend the festival, but wristbands to sample the wines will be $10 per person. They will be available at the information booths at the north and south ends of Main Street and at the main intersection. Participating wineries include Auburn Road, Barefoot, Belleview, Chestnut Run Naked Grape and Renault.

A broad array of beautiful paintings and pottery, plus handcrafted jewelry, glass, wood and fabric crafts will be available. More than 40 artists, photographers and crafters from throughout N.J. and Southeastern Pennsylvania will gather to show their treasures. In addition, the Medford Arts Center and Creative Genius Art Gallery will be open for visitors. Both will feature special demonstrations and hands-on activities.

Seven musical groups will be located on porches up and down Main Street, providing live music from rock to pop to bluegrass and folk tunes. Featured bands include the Brewsky Brothers, Branin Road, Spiritual Thunder, Medford-Town Jazz Jam and Quattro Bassi, a tuba quartet. New this year will be the South Jersey Pop’s German Band at the Gazebo.

A variety of food will be available along the street. Braddock’s Restaurant and Rouge Café and will be open and food vendors featuring hot dogs, burgers, barbeque and ice cream will be strategically located.

Parking will be available at Sharps Run Plaza and St. Mary of the Lakes School, with free motor coach transportation available to the center and north ends of town. Handicapped parking will be available in the Cranberry Hall parking lot (enter from Branch Street) or the public lot behind the Stagecoach Stoop (enter from west end of Union Street), but other Village parking lots will be reserved for vendors and volunteers.

The rain date for the Art, Wine and Music Festival is Sunday, June 10, but every effort will be made to run the event on June 3 as planned. Visit www.medfordbusiness.org if there’s a question. For further information, call (609) 654–6485 or (609) 969–3838.
