Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and Riverton Borough Police Chief John Shaw announced on Sunday that a woman was found fatally shot on a Riverton street early on Sunday morning.
Law enforcement personnel were contacted at 5:23 a.m. with a report of a person on the ground on Carriage House Lane between Lippincott Ave. and Thomas Ave.
The identity of the woman is still being determined. No arrests have been made. An autopsy will be performed by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood.
The case is being investigated by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and the Riverton Borough Police Department.
