Weekly Medford Township Police Report

The following reports are on file with the Medford Township Police Department:

On Feb. 25, the Medford Police responded to the Fortune Cookie Restaurant for a report of a burglary to a shed.

Police learned that sometime between 10 p.m. on Feb. 24 and 11 a.m. on Feb. 25, unknown actors pried open the shed to the rear of the building and stole two five pound bags of pepper and a rubber bin from within.

The bags of pepper were valued at $11 each and the rubber bin was $10. The incident is currently under investigation.

Medford Township Police recently responded to a home on Ark Road for a report of a daytime residential burglary. Investigators determined that unknown actor(s) entered the home and stole various items belonging to the property owners between the times of 11 a.m. and 2:05 p.m.

The incident was turned over to detectives and remains an active investigation. Anyone with information or possible leads should contact Medford Police at (609) 654–7511 or the anonymous citizen tip line at (609) 714–0302.

On March 4 at 9:33 p.m., Medford Police conducted a random registration inquiry on Route 70 at Eayrestown Road on a 2002 Mazda 626.

After observing that the registration was expired, police stopped the suspect vehicle on Route 70 at Medford Leas Way.

Upon making contact with the driver, police detected an odor of burnt and raw marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle.

The front passenger was found to be in possession of a clear bag containing Marijuana in his right front pants pocket. He was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters to be processed.

The driver was issued a motor vehicle summons for unregistered and released at the scene while the passenger was issued a summons for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and released pending a court appearance.

Medford Township Police were dispatched to the Wawa located on Tuckerton Road for a reported shoplifting.

The suspect was located fleeing in the wooded area near Taunton Road and Holly Drive.

Four packs of Parliament cigarettes were recovered on the defendant and he was arrested. The defendant was also charged with defiant trespassing because he was instructed not to return to that Wawa as a condition of bail stemming from a similar incident in October 2015.

He could not post bail, $7500, and was lodged into the Burlington County Jail pending court.

Medford Township Police were dispatched to an apartment in Eaves Mill for a possible burglary.

Police investigation revealed that two men allegedly entered an apartment without the permission or authorization of the property owners.

As a result, they were charged with criminal trespassing, issued summons complaints to appear in court.
