2016 Through Our Lenses Youth Photography Competition and Exhibit

Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge invites children ages three through 18 to join us again this year for “Through Our Lenses”, a youth photography competition and exhibition.

The competition is open to the first 250 entries.

Submissions must be accompanied by a photography rights release form available on Cedar Run’s website at www.cedarrun.org or by visiting our Nature Center.

Families may take part in the community competition. Included in the cost of general admission, $5 adults and $3 for children (free to members), each child ages three to 18 should use a digital/phone camera to photograph the scenery, trees and wildlife or anything else during their visit.

Photos should be emailed to [email protected] and include the child’s name and age in the subject line. All participants will receive a matted 8 x 10 of their best print, chosen by Cedar Run staff.

On May 6 through 8 Cedar Run will hold gallery days, displaying all of the matted prints, along with a first, second, and third place winner for best photograph in each age category: three to seven, eight to 12, and 13 to 18. There will be no admission charge on exhibit days.

Through Our Lenses was started several years ago by the Zawierucha family to honor family member Rebekah Jolley, a photographer and nature lover, who passed away suddenly in 2005. They continue to support Cedar Run’s mission with their time and enthusiasm.

For more information, contact John Dixon at (856) 983–3329 or email [email protected].
