The Medford Arts Center (the MAC) invites poets in Burlington County to participate in their annual juried poetry contest.
Selected poets will be recognized at a reception at the Medford Arts Center and awards will be presented on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.
Winners will be selected for the following awards:
1st Place: $25
2nd Place: $15
3rd Place: $10
The Rules:
• Poets must be a resident of Burlington County and at least 18 years of age.
• Any form of poetry or subject is acceptable. All submitted work must be original as well as be the work of the poet entering the contest, not previously published.
• All entries must be typed and presented in hardcopy (no e-mailed entries).
• The entry form must accompany all entries. Forms are available in person or online at the Medford Arts Center (MAC), located at 18 North Main Street, or at www.medfordartscenter.org. Please note: the MAC is only open on weekends. Forms also available weekdays during business hours in the Medford Municipal Building lobby, located across the street from the MAC at 17 North Main Street.
• Poet’s name must not appear on typed copy of poem. Poet’s identifying information must appear on application appearing on this page and sent in with the typed poem. Each application will be numbered with the corresponding number placed on the poem for “blind judging.”
• Entries will be judged by a juror selected by the MAC. Winners will be selected based on excellence of poetry.
• All entries must be received no later than Tuesday, Nov. 15. There is no fee for entry. Maximum 3 poems per entrant.
• MAC volunteers and employees of Medford Township and their relatives may participate but are not eligible for prizes or awards.
To Enter:
Complete the application form and submit it with your poem(s); only one form needs to be included. All poems and applications must be submitted no later than Tuesday, Nov. 15. They may be dropped off in person at the Medford Municipal Building during business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) at 17 North Main St., Medford, NJ.
