Free Bereavement Support Groups beginning in March

Support groups are open to all and led by professionals.

All support groups are led by professionals and provide the opportunity to learn about grief, and to share loss-related experiences in a comfortable, private environment. Support groups are free and open to all. Donations are gratefully accepted. Pre-registration is required for all groups. To register, please call (856) 552–1300, ext. 2507. Call Ext. 2707 for updates, including cancellations due to inclement weather.

The groups to be offered are as follows:

EXPRESSIONS for CHILDREN (Ages 7–13)

6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Dates: Mondays: 3/13, 4/10, 5/15, 6/5 Wednesdays: 3/29, 4/26, 5/10, 5/31, 6/14, 6/28

Place: Moorestown Visiting Nurses & Hospice 300 Harper Drive, Moorestown, NJ 08057

A special group for children and pre-adolescents that centers on dealing with grief through creative art activities. Parents/Guardians may be invited to attend certain sessions. Pre-registration required, please call (856) 552–1300, ext. 2507.

GROWING THROUGH GRIEF, DAYTIME (Adults)

Select Thursdays, 1:30–3:30pm. 2017 Dates: 3/16, 4/13, 5/18, 6/15

An ongoing grief support group for those who have lost a spouse, family member or friend within the last 2 years. Pre-registration required, please call (856) 552–1300, ext. 2507.

UNDERSTANDING GRIEF, EVENING (Adults)

Select Wednesdays. 6:00–7:30 pm. — 2017 Dates: 3/8, 4/5, 5/17, 6/7

NEWLY BEREAVED GRIEF SUPPORT (For loss in the past year) (Adults)

Select Tuesdays. 1:30–3:00 pm — 2017 Dates: 3/7, 3/21, 4/4, 4/18, 5/9, 5/23, 6/6, 6/20

Place: Moorestown Visiting Nurses & Hospice 300 Harper Drive, Moorestown, NJ 08057

Monthly opportunity for those with a loss within the past year to learn about coping with early phase of grief, as well as build a support network with other recently bereaved individuals. Pre-registration required, please call (856) 552–1300, ext. 2507.

GRIEF SUPPORT AT LUMBERTON LEAS (Adults)

Select Thursdays at 1:30 pm. — 2017 Dates: 3/2, 3/23, 4/6, 4/20, 5/4, 5/25, 6/1

LGBTQI GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP (Adults)

Select Wednesdays at 6:00pm, 2017 dates: 3/22, 4/19, 5/24, 6/21

A grief support group for adults who have experienced a significant loss through death within the past 2 years. Pre-registration required, please call (856) 552–1300, ext. 2507.

CAMP FIREFLY (Children 7–14)

For children who have lost a parent, sibling or other special person through death, Camp Firefly provides a special place to make new friends, share feelings, and find relief from grief. Camp Firefly 2017 will be held on Saturday, August 26 and Sunday, August 27 (overnight) at Camp Matollionequay/Ockanickon in Medford. The camp is free to children ages 7 to 14.
