Investigation leads to arrest of male for narcotics and weapon offenses

Richard Bryant of Berlin was arrested.

The following information comes from the Berlin Police Department:

On Feb. 23, detectives from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Suburban Narcotics Task Force and Berlin Borough completed an extensive investigation into the distribution of a controlled dangerous substance in the Lonaconing development of Berlin Borough. The investigation resulted in a search warrant application, which was executed by the Lower Camden County SRT.

As a result of this search warrant, a male suspect was taken into custody and found to be in possession of under one half ounce of heroin, a third degree crime. He also was found to be in possession of packaging material commonly used to manufacture and distribute heroin. A loaded handgun and associated ammunition were also located.

Richard Bryant of Berlin was arrested and taken into custody without incident and processed at Berlin Borough Police Department. He was then remanded to Camden County Jail in default of his bail and charged with the following: possession of heroin with intent to distribute (third degree), possession of heroin (third degree), possession of a weapon during CDS offense (third degree) and certain person to not possess weapons (third degree).
