Evesham Township releases details of 2018 Capital Budget
Evesham Township officials have released details for the township’s 2018 capital budget. The municipal capital budget totals $5 million for improvements to the township, with another $320,000 for improvements to the Indian Spring Country Club and golf course the township owns and manages. According to Evesham Township manager Mike Barth, this year the township plans to spend $2.6 million in road improvements.
Evesham Police arrest Marlton female after Camden County Police terminate vehicle pursuit
On March 2, Evesham Police officials say that officers with the Evesham Township Police Department were advised that the Camden County Police Department terminated a vehicle pursuit with a vehicle that was registered to an Evesham address. Evesham Police were eventually able to arrest the alleged driver, age 30, of Marlton, and charged her with fourth-degree resisting arrest and a disorderly person’s offense for possession of hypodermic needles and drug paraphernalia.
Marlton teen goes for Girl Scout Gold Award by directing production of ‘Seussical, Jr.’
Cherokee High School junior Abigail Sanie loves theater and she loves being a Girl Scout. Now Sanie is combining those two passions as she works to direct and produce her own production of “Seussical, Jr.” as her Girl Scout Gold Award Project. According to Sanie, her project will provide several educational and entertaining theatrical performances in the area for a low cost, with one show also being tailored to those with sensory issues.
Operation Yellow Ribbon of South Jersey beneficiary of this year’s Medford Lakes Polar Plunge
On March 17, Dave Silver, chair of the Marlton-based Operation Yellow Ribbon of South Jersey military support group, is jumping into a new way to help OYRSJ when he takes part in the Medford Lakes Polar Plunge. Sponsored by the Medford Lakes Canoe Carnival float group “On the Rocks,” the annual Polar Plunge sees brave men and women jump into the icy waters of Medford Lakes every March to raise money for a local charity. This year, On the Rocks selected OYRSJ as the beneficiary for the plunge, which Silver said was especially meaningful as he grew up in Medford Lakes.
Girls ages 10 to 16 invited to coding event at Rowan College at Burlington County on March 17
Local girls ages 10 to 16 are invited to join a Google “Made with Code” party at Rowan College at Burlington County on Saturday, March 17. The “Made with Code” party is sponsored by the college along with New Jersey State Sen. Dawn Marie Addiego and Burlington County Freeholders Kate Gibbs and Linda Hughes. Officials describe the event as the “perfect opportunity” for any girl, ages 10 to 16, who is curious about finding a future in the world of coding. No prior coding experience is needed to attend.
