Police say the arrests stemmed from a narcotics investigation that began months earlier.

On July 19, officials with the Evesham Township Police Department say a narcotics investigation resulted in the arrest of a male and female who traveled from Camden City to Marlton with the alleged intention to sell 40 bags of heroin to a Marlton resident.
Officials say the investigation began months earlier following a Marlton resident who had overdosed on heroin. Following the overdose, a narcotics investigation was commenced by the department’s narcotics unit, which resulted in the arrest of two individuals from Camden City that police suspect of distributing heroin in Evesham.
Arrested:
A male, age 24, of Camden, was charged with third-degree possession of heroin with intent to distribute, third-degree possession of heroin and fourth degree loitering to distribute a controlled dangerous substance. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in with no bail.
A female, age 26, of Camden, was charged with third-degree possession of heroin with intent to distribute, third-degree possession of heroin and fourth- degree loitering to distribute controlled dangerous substance. She was released on her own recognizance.
